Tutorial : how to update WebHostManager(WHM)/cPanel to latest version
Perhaps every reseller, VPS or Dedicated Server hosting will be using WebHostManager/cPanel. Security is of great importance as far as web hosting is concerned and this software should be updated regularly. To update WHM/cPanel version,
1.Log into the WHM account using the root credentials, the main page like below will appear.
2.On the left sidebar, choose ‘Server Configuration’ and then click on ‘Update Preferences’.
3. Once the user is in Update Preferences area, he/she can select any of the release tier options. But selecting ‘Stable’ or ‘’Release’ is recommendable. In the below example, ‘Release’ tier is chosen and the version is 188.8.131.52
4. Click on the ‘update’ button at the bottom of the page and make sure a green bar is appearing on the top of the page
5. To begin the update process, click on the blue ‘Update Now’ button
6. Once the process is completed, the user should be able to see the updated version on the top bar. In this example, WHM 184.108.40.206 has appeared.
